Buy Local

We love to shop at our local Farmers Market. It isn’t simply for the deals either. Supporting local organic farmers means that we are helping them grow their business, which also means we get more tasty selections to choose from. You can buy more than food at your local market. I have purchased soaps, lotions, hats, and even dog treats!

  8. Old Fort Soap Company – Soaps galore can be found at this booth, but out favorite is the all natural laundry soap. They also have bath bombs that we have not tried yet. The charcoal soap is great as a natural agent to purge impurities from the body.

Local Retailers

Other ways to support the local community is to buy from these retailers:

  1. Fort Wayne 3 Rivers Co-op – An abundance of natural and organic foods and wellness products.
  2. Fresh Thyme– A farmers market store that has a huge selection of produce that they say is sourced locally. They also have a wonderful selection of bulk items, and reasonable priced fair trade coffee.
  3. The Fresh Market – This store is involved with feeding the local community and is a partner with the Sustainable Seafood Initiative. The meat and seafood there is very fresh, and the chicken is all organic. Try the boneless skinless chicken thighs!
  4. Earth Fare – We are skeptical of this store, and refuse to buy their meat its just not fresh. We also found the seafood to be lacking in quality and freshness. They do, however, have a large selection of wine that you can save 20% on if you buy 8 bottles.
